Research Highlights
My routine work is on flow and transport studies on a variety of subjects. In addition, I currently study dissolution and precipitation of actinides. There are some new and exciting areas I am working on in microscale physical and chemical processes through lattice Boltzmann models. Examples include nanoparticle interactions, isotope fractionation in phase transformation.
My previous major research experiences involve diverse research areas. They include: (1) colloid facilitated plutonium transport when I worked with Los Alamos National Laboratory's Dr. Andrew Wolfsberg; (2) stochastic hydrological processes in a semiconfined aquifer with Dr. Dongxiao Zhang; (3) natural attenuation of BTEX at the Hill Air Force at Utah when I studied for my Ph.D. at University of Alabama with Dr. Chunmiao Zheng; (4) studying the correlation of biodegradation rates with hydraulic conductivity; (5) controlling processes in a CaCO3 precipitating stream in The World Nature Heritage China's Huanglong Scenic District where I found a rare CaCO3 mineral vaterite in the milky pool waters behind Huanglong temple; (6) engineering patching of leaking earth dam through borehole mud injection; and (7) soil erosion investigation through satellite photograph interpretation.
