TOUGH2: Available Documentation
Instructions for code installation are available in READ.ME files for standard version and PC version.
Click here for the READ.ME file of the new (December 1999) Version 2.0 of TOUGH2.
Documentation for TOUGH2, Version 2.0, including specification of input formats and input files for a set of sample problems, is available in the following report:
Click here to download an Acrobat® pdf file with the abstract and table of contents of the TOUGH2 User's Guide. Appendices A and B with the formulation of governing mass and energy balance equations and space and time discretization are also available for downloading.
A technical description of earlier versions of TOUGH2 and instructions for code applications are given in the following reports:
Pruess, K. TOUGH2 - A General Purpose Numerical Simulator for Multiphase Fluid and Heat Flow, Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory Report LBL-29400, Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory, Berkeley, CA, May 1991.
Pruess, K. TOUGH User's Guide, Nuclear Regulatory Commission Report NUREG/CR-4645; also Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory Report No. LBL-20700, 1987.
The TOUGH2 and TOUGH reports are not available on-line. Paper copies may be ordered, free of charge, by sending e-mail to K_Pruess@lbl.gov
Further enhancements of the TOUGH2 simulator continue to be developed. These will be released to the public after testing and documentation are completed. A summary report on recent TOUGH2 developments that was published in the Bulletin of the Geothermal Resources Council is available on-line.
Much information on TOUGH2 and its applications can be found in the following two reports. Clicking on the Proceedings of the TOUGH Workshop '95 will bring up Title, Abstract, and Table of Contents.
Pruess, K., A. Simmons, Y.S. Wu and G. Moridis. TOUGH2 Software Qualification. Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory Report LBL-38383, February 1996.
It is planned to make full documentation for the T2VOC version of TOUGH2 available on-line in the future. Clicking on the T2VOC User's Guide will bring up Title, Abstract, and Table of Contents.
The T2CG1 package of preconditioned conjugate gradient solvers and illustrative applications are described in
Moridis, G. and K. Pruess. Flow and Transport Simulations Using T2CG1, a Package of Conjugate Gradient Solvers for the TOUGH2 Family of Codes, Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory Report LBL-36235, Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory, Berkeley, CA, 1995.
